The month of December is always crucial in the English Premier League, where the matches will be so tight, and the number of matches will be more. So, at that time, there are chances that the top teams will start to drop points because of the intensity. It was the same situation this season, too, and Manchester City took advantage of it. As Liverpool and Chelsea dropped points, now they have a lead of ten points in the league with the second-placed Chelsea. Man City betting had the most winnings in the month of December when we look at the performance of the club.
Manchester City also took both the Player of the Month award and the Manager of the Month award of December.
Raheem Sterling has been voted the Premier League Player of the Month for December. He scored five goals and provided one assist during a month where City won all seven Premier League games. His teammate Joao Cancelo was also a contender for the Player of the Month.
Raheem Sterling is the first City player to win the Premier League Player of the Month this season. On receiving the prize, Sterling said: “I am delighted to win this award again – but December was an amazing month for the whole team.
“The Premier League is the most challenging competition in the world, so to win all seven of our league games throughout the month of December is incredible.
“Contributing to those wins with goals has felt good and that makes me happy. Hopefully, we can continue this form because 2021 has been brilliant for us. All of us want to win trophies at the end of the season and that is what our aim will be from now until then.”
Pep Guardiola has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for the second successive month. City enjoyed a magnificent 100 percent Premier League record last month, winning all seven of our domestic matches to open up a great lead at the top of the table.
This latest award means Guardiola has now won the Manager of the Month award 11 times in total during his City tenure, placing him third on the overall standings.
It has also seen the Catalan move clear of David Moyes, with only Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson now having claimed the prize more times.
City will be looking to guide the club to a fourth Premier League title under Pep Guardiola, after winning the English top-flight in 2018, 2019, and 2021 – defeating Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United in various title races over the years.
